How to measure WhatsApp campaign success

RM Rohan Mehta Jun 8, 2026 4 min read

Launching a WhatsApp campaign is exciting. But how do you know if it actually worked? The answer lies in tracking the right metrics — and avoiding vanity numbers that look good on paper but tell you nothing about real impact.

Here are the metrics that matter most for WhatsApp campaigns, and how to track them in Voji.

1. Delivery rate

Not every message gets delivered. A low delivery rate usually means outdated contacts or number blocks. Aim for 95%+ delivery. If you are below that, clean your contact list and remove inactive numbers.

2. Open rate

WhatsApp open rates are naturally high — often 60-80% — because messages appear in the familiar chat interface. Track opens by campaign, segment and time of day to learn what your audience responds to.

3. Click-through rate

The percentage of recipients who clicked a button or link in your message. CTR tells you if your offer and call-to-action are compelling. A good CTR on WhatsApp is 15-30%, far above email averages.

4. Reply rate

The most powerful WhatsApp metric. When a customer replies to your broadcast, they start a conversation — and conversations drive relationships. Track reply rates to see which messages spark real engagement.

5. Opt-out rate

Some churn is normal, but a spike in opt-outs means something is wrong. Review your message frequency, content relevance and targeting. Voji alerts you when opt-out rates exceed your threshold.

6. Conversion rate

Ultimately, campaigns should drive business results — purchases, sign-ups, bookings. Use Voji's conversion tracking to connect campaign activity to revenue.

All of these metrics are available in your Voji dashboard. Book a demo to see analytics in action.
